This 7 week writing course is designed to help writers bring their novel to life through setting up a framework or outline for their particular work. Because the task of "a novel" is so daunting," the framework concept will allow participants to organize their novel idea into manageable sections that can then be fleshed out into a rough draft.

Furthermore, information will be shared regarding:

  • Writing strategies - How do I get started?

  • Techniques such as clarifying your objective, using writing tools and determining value.

  • Problems and solutions regarding writing a novel.

  • Making time: Organization, space and creativity.

  • Scenes, not chapters because scenes make chapters.

  • Revisiting the five basic tenants of good writing.

  • What happens when I'm done - Revision, Edit, Line and Content.

  • Building on your Novel ark and a quick view of publishing expectations.

This class will meet on Monday nights at 6 P.M. (see extended Learning schedule.) On the second week will begin your one and only assignment. This assignment will be the primary component of the course and upon completion, you will be able to begin the serious work and joy of writing.
