My primary area of research is in chemosensory physiology, especially the role of olfaction (sense of smell) in the formation of high fat/sugar food preference and conditioned taste (flavor) aversion. A more recent area of research is the alteration of spatial perception and aging in growth hormone-knockout mice.
There are currently openings for Psychology majors who would like to work as lab assistants via the Internship Program. These students will receive special training in computer software and hardware, including the construction of Web Pages, as well as get involved in classroom instruction of Computer Lab software. Interested Southeast students should apply to the Department Chairperson, or call Vickie at 651-2132.
